Do you have difficulty meditating?
Is it hard for you to sit still and relax?
Does the idea of singing or using your voice scare you?
Sound Temple may be the answer for you.
Sound Temple is a sacred space where the power of Love, Voice and Vision are mobilized for self-empowerment and Earth harmony.
Empower your voice and develop meditation skills through:
Vocal Meditation - humming, toning and chanting
Sound Healing - receiving vocal and instrumental vibrations for the purpose of deep relaxation, healing and insights.
Subtle Activism - directing collective prayer and meditation towards social and planetary change
How does it work?
When our mind is focussed on our breath, the natural vibrations in our voice help our body relax, our feelings to flow and our spirit to align with the unified field of consciousness. In this state of wholeness we become a source and conduit for wholeness in the world.
Other common benefits of vocal meditation and sound healing include:
- feeling connected, happy and light
- reduction in physical pain, tension and stress
- a calm clear mind
- greater lung capacity and vocal confidence
- access to creative insights and visions
Vocal Meditation practices can be used solo, with a friend or in a group. The effect is exponential, meaning with each person added the effect is magnified 10-fold.
No experience with meditation or sounding is necessary for any Sound Temple experience. Each practice is led in call and response, or taught and then practised in unison.
Please arrive a few minutes early to get settled and bring a closed Water bottle for drinking

"We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming. We cannot stop the spring or the fall or make them other than they are. They are gifts from the universe that we cannot refuse. But we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrives." ---
Spring is the beginning of a new cycle, a time for planting new seeds in anticipation of a bountiful harvest in summer and fall. Whether the seeds are for flowers or food, the seeds journey is always one of awakening and growing according to its divine blueprint deep within. For us as human beings spring is also a time of awakening – to new or remembered desires and dreams – given to us to manifest so we may bring more joy and light into our lives, families and communities.
Kirtan is a very different kind of music. Based on ancient chants, it has the ability to quiet the mind, sooth the soul and sometimes raise the rafters with joy!
There will be a mix of meditative and energizing mantras and chants, some in Sanskrit and some in English.
Just think sing-along.
Chanting led by nature empath and planetary sound weaver Danielea Castell, co-hosted with Tanya Garland.
Kirtan is non-denominational, the Universal language of Spirit, the song of the Soul.
No singing experience is required and lyric sheets will be available. Typically everyone sits on the floor, but I will have chairs available to ensure comfort.
$20 cash or cheque or online registration.

What is Chair Yoga?
Chair yoga is a general term for practices that modify yoga poses so that they can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions. Many of the basic body mechanics of the individual postures are retained, no matter the stance of the practitioner. While seated on chairs, students can do versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild backbends. In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can also enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress, better sleep, and a sense of well-being.
Who Can Do Chair Yoga?
Those of you with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, or who just cannot get on the floor for whatever reason can benefit from -yoga on a chair. The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of your body allowing you to take full advantage of yoga’s amazing fitness and health potential. Office workers can also take advantage of chair yoga's adaptations to sneak in some stretches at work
